Philippe Baute is the Director of Tourism of Antibe-Juan Les Pins, in the South of France.
This Provencal village , on the shore of the Mediterranean Sea , on the Côte d'Azur, is famous for organising the oldest Jazz Festival in Europe.
Famous names, faces and intrumentists have come every year to hear the best , the most varied , the full spectrum of Jazz.
Two groups from Jazz a Juan Les Pins were invited to the Melbourne International Jazz Festival:
Les Enfants de Django and Jazz a Juan all stars Revelation.
The Festival in Melbourne has been a fantastic success .

Today we hear Pierre Christophe and Michel Pastre of Jazz a Juan All Stars. They have made a rapid trip to Melbourne for the International Jazz Festival 30 April - 4 May. They speak of being on the road virtually all year round playing in different festivals around the globe.

Today we meet in the first of a series of programs Professor Jean-Noel Jeanneney, prominent French historian who has written several books on 19th and 20th century French and European history and on the media! He has been president of Radio France and Radio France International. He organised France's celebration of the bicentenary of the French Revolution. He holds a Chair of History at the Institut d'Etudes Politiques in Paris. He is currently in Australia for a few conferences.
